Call for Submissions:  A Parisian Salon 2018: The Soul of Fashion…an exploration of a fashion system in transition, July 14-28, 2018.  Practicing professionals and educators are invited to propose submissions that respond to the theme, The Soul of Fashion, in three possible formats, juried by double-blind review: Original art or design work, either 2D or 3D, for exhibit in Paris during the Salon; Scholarship, for oral presentation at the Salon; Panel presentation proposal, to lead a discussion at the Salon.  Submissions due before midnight CST March 1, 2018.  For more information, visit The Soul of Fashion website and see Full Call.

 

Call for Submissions: ESRAP 2018 Student Merchandising Poster Competition.  Juried poster competition where student will incorporate Triple Bottom Line practices in the development of a business plan for a socially responsible fashion retailer.  The business plan may be for a traditional brick and mortar or a non-store retailer.  Entry deadline is June 1, 2018.  For more information, see Full Announcement.

Call for Papers: International Journal of Costume and Fashion (IJCF) invites papers for publication.  IJCF is one of the representative academic journals of the Korean Society of Costume.  (http://www.ksc.or.kr), published biannually in every June and December. IJCF addresses all aspects of costume and fashion: history of dress, fashion theory, theatrical costume, fashion design, product development, aesthetics, fashion marketing and management, fashion merchandising and retailing, socio-cultural aspect of dress, social psychology of dress, clothing construction, textile science, and new technology in fashion industry. Call for Papers: Textile Society of America Symposium, The Social Fabric: Deep Local to Pan Global.  The Textile Society of America will host its 16th Biennial Symposium in Vancouver, BC September 19-23, 2018. The theme, The Social Fabric: Deep Local to Pan Global will be explored through a variety of concurrent sessions, panel discussions, and plenary and keynote speakers. Call for Submissions: Bloomsbury Publishing Fashion Business Cases.  Bloomsbury Publishing is looking for ITAA members to write business case studies about the fashion, textiles and cosmetics industries for a forthcoming online educational resource.  We are particularly interested in cases relevant to today’s global fashion industry – about fashion in all regions of the world and across variety of sub-sectors.   Cases can range from 1,000 to 7,000 words in length, and can be aimed at introductory to advanced levels. Cases can be written about real-life or fictional companies, and they can be based on primary and secondary research or direct field research. All cases will be editorial and peer reviewed.   To be included in the LAUNCH COLLECTION the deadline for abstracts is 30 June 2017.  For more information, see Announcement.
