ITAA Teaching Collection

Sharing and Using Best Teaching Practices

The ITAA Teaching Collection is a repository for peer-reviewed resources that advance the scholarship of teaching and learning in the field of textiles and apparel. The purpose of the Collection is to:

  1.  help ITAA members increase teaching and learning efficiency and effectiveness by sharing and using best teaching practices, and to;
  2.  disseminate best practices of teaching and learning in textiles and apparel field.

Conditions of Use

Only ITAA members may have access and contribute teaching materials to the ITAA Teaching Collection. Under the Acceptable Use Policy, all materials posted on the ITAA Teaching Collection are freely available for ITAA members to use without prior permission.   


It is expected that out of professional courtesy, ITAA members who use teaching materials from the Teaching Collection or adapt them to suit their courses will notify the author(s) of the use of their materials.


It is also expected that authors of Teaching Collection materials agree to respond to questions from colleagues who are considering or incorporating teaching materials into their own courses.


Authors of accepted Teaching Collection materials are expected to serve as a reviewer for up to 3 submissions.


Submission and Review Process

ITAA members are invited to submit teaching materials to the Teaching Collection. Submissions are reviewed four times per year following a double-blind peer-reviewed process. Submission deadlines are February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1. Authors should submit materials for review to the ITAA Executive Director, following submission guidelines (see “Guidelines for Authors”). Submissions are blind-reviewed under supervision of the Teaching Collection Editor (chair of the ITAA Teaching Innovation and Resources Committee) and are reviewed in the submission cycle following receipt of the submission. Authors will be notified of acceptance decision within 8 weeks of the submission deadline date.
