FULL PAPER SUBMISSIONS

Submitting a full paper to the International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA) offers an exciting opportunity to showcase innovative research / teaching and contribute to the field of textiles and apparel. Full papers may be submitted for several prestigious awards, including the Nancy Rutherford Teaching Innovation Award, Student Best Papers, or, if invited, the Papers of Distinction. These awards highlight outstanding work and provide a platform for recipients to present their research at the 2025 ITAA Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, in November. This conference serves as an excellent venue for networking, collaboration, and professional development, making it a key milestone for researchers, educators, and students in the field.

Nancy Rutherford Teaching Innovation Award

The ITAA Nancy Rutherford Teaching Innovation Award encourages the development and dissemination of innovative teaching strategies that address emerging issues in the apparel and textile fields.

Curatorial Exhibition Scholarship

A digital or physically mounted public exhibition that contributes new knowledge to the textile and apparel field through rigorous research methods where curators study, interpret, and display objects. The scholarship is grounded in theory and/or literature, and the exhibition considers aesthetic and material aspects of curatorial design.

Student Best Papers - Graduate and Undergraduate

The Student Best Paper Competition recognizes outstanding research by students in the field of textiles and apparel. All winners receive free conference registration, first place winners also receive financial assistance, offering an invaluable opportunity to present their work, network with industry professionals, and further their academic and professional careers.

Papers of Distinction


A "Paper of Distinction Award" is an honor given to a research paper that is considered to be of exceptional quality and significantly contributes to our field. Authors will be invited to participate, based upon the score of their initial RTC abstract submission.
