The purpose of the Janet Else Visiting Scholar or Practitioner Travel Award to actively reach out to scholars and practitioners in areas of the world that are under-represented in terms of ITAA membership, thereby promoting the ITAA beyond North America and bringing knowledge and skills from outside North America to the ITAA membership.
Members are encouraged to nominate a colleague for this award. Participation in the ITAA Annual Conference by diverse individuals brings many benefits to the organization.
Eligibility is open to an individual scholar (for Visiting Scholar) or an in dividual practitioner (Visiting Practitioner) from a country that is under-represented at ITAA who can bring fresh and new ideas to ITAA.
Both nominations and self-nominations will be accepted. The nomination package is due by April 1 and should include:
Once the recipient has been chosen, they must indicate their intention to attend the ITAA conference by June 1 of the submission year, providing time for visas to be processed. The recipient must be willing and able to travel to and attend the ITAA annual conference where the recipient must present an oral presentation. Otherwise, the award decision will be canceled.

The sub-committee chair and a minimum of two additional members of the International Relations committee will collect nominations/applications, and select the recipient within one month of nomination due date. The International Relations Committee may award both or either Visiting Scholar and/or Visiting Practitioner, depending on funding situations in a given year.
Once the recipient is selected, the Award selection sub-committee chair will notify the result to VP of Awards, ITAA Executive Director, the chair of the International Relations Committee and the Nominator. An award letter will be sent by the VP of Awards. The International Relations committee chair notifies the selection result to the Annual Conference Planning committee chair in order to schedule introduction of the recipient and presentation time during the annual meeting.

2. Start by entering the submitter's name, affiliation, and email address.
3. List the name of the nominee/applicant, nominee’s/applicant’s institution, and the nominee’s/applicant’s email address.
4. Indicate the Name of the Award for which you are submitting an application/nomination.
5. Confirm that if the nominee receives the award, they will indicate their ability to accept the award and participate in the Conference by June 1.
6. Confirm that the submission has been approved by the submitter and the nominee.
