University of the Arts London (UAL) SUMMER STUDY ABROAD: ITAA AWARD

Award: Tuition-fee waiver for a 3-week Summer Study Abroad Programme at UAL, for both faculty and undergraduate and graduate students.

About UAL: University of the Arts London (UAL) offers an extensive range of courses in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts. UAL is ranked second in the world for Art and Design in the 2024 QS World University Rankings®.

On UAL 3-week Summer Study Abroad courses, study one of their world-renowned subjects, using London as inspiration for your research. From Textile Design, to Fashion Design, to Fashion Business, UAL has a range of exciting Summer courses to choose from.

Award Criteria:

• UAL offers one Summer Study Abroad Award, a tuition fee waiver for a 3-week Summer Study Abroad course.
• ITAA members can receive this award only once.
• Selection criteria include:
  (1)   The submission must meet the brief outlined in the submission procedure.
  (2)   Applicant must be an ITAA member.
  (3)   Applicant must have applied for one of UAL 3-week Summer Study Abroad courses to qualify. Listings for Summer 2025 are available in September 2024.
• Travel and accommodation costs are not included in the UAL Award. The Awardee must be able to source these if they receive the Award. 
• Applications should be submitted to ITAA for the faculty award committee to review based on the award criteria and make recommendation for the UAL committee to make their final decision. 
• All applicants will be notified of the decision by January 15th. See the UAL Funding and Awards page.
• Awardee is responsible for checking their visa status and completing all necessary steps to confirm their application.
• Awardee will be asked to complete a social media task or blog post about their experience at UAL.

Submission Procedure: 

• To make your application, create a video that would be suitable for social media (no longer than 90 seconds): Why I want to study a Summer Study Abroad course at UAL and what I hope to achieve?
• Be as creative as you like! Imagine it being presented on UAL Instagram Account.
• Please include a 200-word supporting statement and tell us which UAL course you would like to apply for.
• The video and personal statement in PDF or Word document submitted to the ITAA Oxford Abstracts submission platform by December 15th. https://app.oxfordabstracts.com/stages/76760/submitter
• Please include the name of your affiliated institution as we will verify this prior to considering applications. If this is not included, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to process your application.
